Note that the device acting as recipient must not have automatic MMS download turned on (where the device retrieves the MMS message from the MMS Center automatically as soon as it receives a notification).

If logging in to the MMS Center requires connecting to a different APN than the one used for data services, the MMS Receive activity must be preceded by a "Network Connect" activity specifying the MMS APN. Of course, if the device is going to execute data services later on, the device must first switch back to the data service APN by doing Network Disconnect and then another Network Connect.

When an Android device is connected in tethered mode, it cannot receive MMS messages unless the data service APN is used for MMS receive as well. This is due to a limitation in Android devices.
