22. Using a Device's Wi-Fi Hotspot for PC Tethering

An alternative way to establish a tethered data connection between a mobile device and the TEMS Investigation PC is to make use of the device's Wi-Fi hotspot. The PC's Wi-Fi adapter is then paired to the hotspot shared from the device.
In this tethering setup, we might say that the mobile device acts as a router between the PC and mobile networks via Wi-Fi. This enables the PC to access the Internet over a mobile network for data service testing.
This setup should (in some cases, must) be used with devices for which TEMS Investigation exhibits the Wi-Fi Hotspot Pairing control function. It can be used with all Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset based smartphones.
